Everton 1 Luton Town 2

What a day. It began at Luton bus station shortly before 9am, and ended in a similar location just before Match of the Day kicked off. What a shame the BBC didn't recall Garth Crooks to the pundit sofa for one night only to reflect on his ridiculous comments made a few weeks ago. 3,000 Luton fans who were up on Merseyside know that this Hatters side are going to hold their own in the Premier League.  A dash from the bus just after 3pm meant we missed the first few minutes but by the time we were standing in the Bullens Upper Luton were well on top. A succession of corners delivered expertly by Alfie Doughty gave the Toffees warning. At the third time of asking Carlton rose like a colossus to thunder a header on to the bar via a Pickford flick. As the ball came rocketing down, Ashley Young must have imagined he was back at the Watford training ground and thought it was time for a shimmy. He had reckoned without Tommy Tommy Lockyer who charged forward and the ball crashed into the ne...

66: Tommy Lockyer Returns

66 days to go until Erling Haaland walks through someone's back garden. Some positive and much needed news came out today about Tommy Lockyer the Luton Maldini. In an interview where he spoke to Sky Sports News, the Players Player of the Season confirmed that he has been given the all clear, and he should be available for next season in the Premier League.

Lockyer was very emotional at the thought of having to go off in the biggest game of his career, especially as he claimed he felt fine shortly after the incident, although he realised the severity of the situation. In a nice twist, he remembered that while he was waiting in the Wembley medical room, a drunk Luton fan told him Jordan Clark had just scored, which would have lifted his spirits.

He added that he has had to have an operation on his heart as it was beating too fast, but it shouldn't happen again, and it wasn't life threatening. For now, Locks will go on a well deserved holiday with his partner, while working out how to fit the likes of Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Mo Salah in his pocket next season.

Finally, while there hasn't been many transfer rumours, we can speculate on news from Sky Sports that 'two unnamed Premier League clubs are interested in Joel Piroe.' The Swansea striker would be an immense addition to most bottom half Premier League teams, could Luton be one of the two unnamed? He only has a year left on his contract and he probably wouldn't be out of our budget. A problem would be Luton competing against richer and more experienced Premier League clubs, so don't get your hopes up yet. But just imagine having Morris, Adebayo and Piroe available as strikers. We can only dream.

62: Transfer Speculation Frenzy

62 days until super Robbie gives his first Match of the Day interview and talks live to Gary Lineker. No actual transfer or ticket news this week but as the transfer window opens next week, we would expect some movement. Goalkeepers Travers has been linked as has Begovic. Lascelles strongly tipped from Newcastle. A big money bid for Chuba Akpom could be on the cards. Even the manager has been linked with a switch to Leeds United now with 49ers backing.  The new Bobbers stand is coming on nicely. Excellent new BBC 3 counties podcast to follow as well.
