Everton 1 Luton Town 2

What a day. It began at Luton bus station shortly before 9am, and ended in a similar location just before Match of the Day kicked off. What a shame the BBC didn't recall Garth Crooks to the pundit sofa for one night only to reflect on his ridiculous comments made a few weeks ago. 3,000 Luton fans who were up on Merseyside know that this Hatters side are going to hold their own in the Premier League.  A dash from the bus just after 3pm meant we missed the first few minutes but by the time we were standing in the Bullens Upper Luton were well on top. A succession of corners delivered expertly by Alfie Doughty gave the Toffees warning. At the third time of asking Carlton rose like a colossus to thunder a header on to the bar via a Pickford flick. As the ball came rocketing down, Ashley Young must have imagined he was back at the Watford training ground and thought it was time for a shimmy. He had reckoned without Tommy Tommy Lockyer who charged forward and the ball crashed into the ne...

59 days: Fixtures tomorrow

59 days to go until Luton return to the biggest sports league in the world. Tomorrow we discover our Premier League fixture schedule. Luton Digital exclusively can report that it is likely Luton will play Brighton away. Be ready for 9am BST tomorrow when the rest of the games will be announced. Below we will include a reminder of clubs in the Premier League, just in case you forgot.

60 days: Season Ticket Out, Bell Renews

How Bobbers Stand looked before the exec boxes 60 days or thereabouts until we kick off at Everton away. Lots of news in what was always expected to be a busy week of announcements particularly with the fixtures out this Thursday. To round things up: - season ticket prices are out and as expected, and in the spirit of how 20/20 have run things over the past 10 years, there has been no profiteering or exploiting of supporters. Increases kept to a minimum. A fair, transparent and decent system. Massive applause all round to the Club. - Team talk are reporting Amari Bell has signed a new contact. Great news if confirmed. - A report only the first game of the season needs to be away... previously it was thought the first 3 games would be away from home to allow for the ground improvements.

62: Transfer Speculation Frenzy

62 days until super Robbie gives his first Match of the Day interview and talks live to Gary Lineker. No actual transfer or ticket news this week but as the transfer window opens next week, we would expect some movement. Goalkeepers Travers has been linked as has Begovic. Lascelles strongly tipped from Newcastle. A big money bid for Chuba Akpom could be on the cards. Even the manager has been linked with a switch to Leeds United now with 49ers backing.  The new Bobbers stand is coming on nicely. Excellent new BBC 3 counties podcast to follow as well.

65: Joel Linked; The Admiral Sets Sail

65 days until we kick off at Goodison. Links today to Swansea defender Joel Latibeaudiere. it is a long name to fit on the back of a shirt. The Admiral Muskwe might be off to Barnsley.  We at Luton Digital are still expecting some sort of definitive transfer news this week. From the sounds of it the deal for Horvath is closest.

66: Tommy Lockyer Returns

66 days to go until Erling Haaland walks through someone's back garden. Some positive and much needed news came out today about Tommy Lockyer the Luton Maldini. In an interview where he spoke to Sky Sports News, the Players Player of the Season confirmed that he has been given the all clear, and he should be available for next season in the Premier League.  Lockyer was very emotional at the thought of having to go off in the biggest game of his career, especially as he claimed he felt fine shortly after the incident, although he realised the severity of the situation. In a nice twist, he remembered that while he was waiting in the Wembley medical room, a drunk Luton fan told him Jordan Clark had just scored, which would have lifted his spirits. He added that he has had to have an operation on his heart as it was beating too fast, but it shouldn't happen again, and it wasn't life threatening. For now, Locks will go on a well deserved holiday with his partner, while working o...

67: Horvath Option

67 days until The Town go Premier. A quiet day on the news front and social media, but no doubt manic behind the scenes.  The Athletic reporting that Luton have an option to sign keeper Horvath permanently. The Bobbers rebuild has a fixed 8 weeks for contractors to be off site then further weeks for the pitch to recover. We would expect some firm transfer news later this week and an announcement on season ticket arrangements.

68: Bradley Derby, Burnley In For Drameh

68 days until Luton grace the Premier League. Walking in the hot sun at Wardown tonight I passed a fellow Hatter in a retro shirt. No words were spoken but fists touched as we silently recalled the emotion of Wembley 8 days ago. Sonny Bradley is interesting both Derby and Hull. Cody Drameh is apparently being chased by Burnley and earns just shy of 5k a week on his current Leeds contract.  More media coverage including via the BBC that Luton have indeed requested to play their first 3 games away to allow time for the ground to be upgraded to Premier League standard. Transfers should start to firm up shortly but from our analysis these are the key positions: - keeper, Horvath perm?  - left back; backup for Doughty - centre back; to replace Bradley - 2 right backs; I'd take Drameh and Bree - centre mid; break the bank to get Marvellous back permanently - 1 playmaker; arguable this one but would love to see  - 1 tall pacy attacker; ideally a combo of Cornick / Jerome

69: Jones Reading

69 days until Luton hit the Prmeier League. Pretty strong rumours tonight we will play first 3 games away. The Bobbers rebuild is 12 weeks. And there are 10 weeks to go. No other news other than to say. One week ago Luton went Premier League.

70: All quiet on the Premier League front

70 days to go until Luton kick off a historic Premier League campaign. Not as much news today, ex Luton manager Nathan Jones is reportedly in talks with League One side Reading. Surprising that he is considering a job in League One but we wish him good luck. The club's official Instagram account is now named @lutontown instead of @ltfc_official. Groundbreaking news. Sky Sports report that Gabe Osho is in talks over a new contract, having recently had his one year extension triggered. Fully deserved, since November the young centre back has been immense.   The Sun football have surprisingly claimed that Leeds are keeping tabs on super Rob Edwards. More chance of the club ground-sharing with Watford than this happening, surely.  Speaking of the ground, work has apparently started already on rebuilding the Bobbers Stand to be fit for Premier League purpose. This makes sense as the club only have around 10 weeks to prepare for it. It would not be surprising if we start ...

71: Contract Renewals, Outgoings

71 days until Luton play their first game back in the top flight. Today our contract renewals were announced. First off, departing is club captain Sonny Bradley, who we all knew was leaving anyway. Then we have lawn-mowing expert Henri Lansbury, who has been a valuable player for us in his later years as a footballer. Finally, Harry Isted departs, having shone on loan at Barnsley. Luton Digital would like to wish all three players the very very best.     Unfortunately, our three loan players, Horvath, Nakamba and Drameh depart back to their parent clubs. Let's hope this is only temporary, as all three played such a pivotal role in this historic season. The club will surely be considering permanent deals for all three. Now, besides the players just mentioned, every other player whose contract was running out has been offered an extension, or their options for a further year have been triggered. The one year options for Osho, Potts and Thorpe have been triggered, while new contr...
